The Fraud Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.Job Description:

  • Guard against intelligent, adaptive perpetrators of financial crime.
  • Analyze, design & implement transactional fraud mitigation strategies while maximizing client experience across multiple Retail portfolios.
  • Proactively identifies fraud detection issues at the strategy and portfolio level and provide analytical/modeling solutions.
  • Completes complex analyses identifying authentication strategy and procedure gaps, manage and implementation process across several business groups to affect change.
  • Develops and implements effective Fraud detection and prevention strategies to mitigate fraud losses while ensuring an appropriate balance between risk and customer experience at application, point of sale and within client contact points.
  • Leverages data to develop and build necessary reporting in SAS.
  • Conducts substantial interaction with Policy, Operations, Credit Risk, and other functional business partners to optimize business strategies.
  • Applies subject matter expertise to the prioritization and planning of projects in conjunction with fraud management policies and strategies.
  • Adheres to strict audit and control requirements; participate in audit related activities and assist Citi Retails Services Fraud Analytics Team Lead with completion of the audit and compliance related activities.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling business requirements, drafting project requests, coordinating project deliverables, and providing status updates on projects.
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders in the Risk Operations Fraud teams to develop business requirements
  • Participate in local, regional, and global external associations to develop best practicesQualifications
    • 6-10 years' experience in the banking/lending industry with broad and comprehensive knowledge and experience with Fraud Investigations and Detection
    • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
    • Experience in data analysis with strong knowledge of SAS Required. SQL , SPSS, or equivalent; SAS Enterprise Miner experience is a plus.
    • Experience with writing and implementing fraud strategies in leading fraud decision engines is desired.
    • Knowledge on Citi Lines of Business , especially Mortgages desirable
    • The ideal candidate will be a flexible and creative thinker regarding continuous improvements in efficiency and process; have proficient PC skills in a wide area network environment utilizing programs such as Office 365; be Flexible and innovative in approaching and resolving issuesEducation:
