Description: MFC is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. This is Lockheed Martin's lead business unit for research development and production of manned and unmanned ground-vehicle systems, electro-optical and smart munitions systems and is a pioneer in the field of versatile, high-performance missile and rocket technology. We are seeking a Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) Test Engineer with experience in real-time Infrared scene generation and projection for the development and test of Infrared Seekers in support of the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 2 development program. Job includes specification and evaluation of IR sources, scene projector hardware projector optical designs, development of IR scene and target models in coordination with USG customer, implementation of IR scene generation hardware, software, and integration with real-time 6DOF software, creation of HWIL IR system requirements in coordination with IR scene generation software and IR projector subcontractors, and testing of IR seeker in HWIL. Position will include some travel to customer facility in Huntsville, Al. Familiarity with IR seeker lab testing techniques is desired. Relocation: Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position. The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the "Mid-Cities" region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth. MFCE&T MFCVETS Basic Qualifications: -Active Secret clearance. - Bachelor Degree in Optics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering - Demonstrated knowledge of optical design, development, and test - Demonstrated knowledge of HWIL implementation for IR seeker test and evaluation - Familiarity with optical design tools or other ray tracing tool. - High proficiency in communication to include presentations to customers and program management and Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Ability to estimate, plan and status activities. - Laboratory experience with optical systems and components, including understanding of measurement techniques, devices, and expected outcomes. - Ability to periodically physically come on site in Dallas laboratories for optical system assembly, test, and characterization Desired Skills: - Masters or PhD degree in Optics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Physics - Active Secret Clearance or higher --- Proficient in programming and data analysis using MATLAB and MS Excel --- Experience with infrared radiometry, atmospheric modelling, and IR target modelling - Experience with IR seeker performance parameters, data collection and analysis to characterize seeker performance --- Familiar with IR system laboratory test equipment, such as blackbody sources and targets - Experience with Zemax and/or Code V lens design tools and lens fabrication BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: job.Qualifications Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
